Telugu Bible Offline is a cross-platform scripture reading platform available as both a website and a mobile application, designed specifically for Telugu-speaking Christians who want a fast, distraction-free Bible reading experience — with or without an internet connection.

The web platform is built with NuxtJS and served as a static site, making it blazing fast and hostable at near-zero cost. The mobile app is built with Flutter and ships the entire Telugu Bible as a bundled SQLite database, meaning the app works fully offline from first launch — no download required, no login, no ads.

The parallel reading mode — the flagship feature — displays two Bible versions side by side, allowing readers to compare the traditional Telugu Bible with a modern contemporary translation in the same view. This was a deliberate design choice inspired by how seminary students and pastors study scripture, and the layout adapts gracefully from phone screens to tablets.

Additional features include bookmarks with custom labels, personal notes on any verse, a highlight system with multiple colours, a fast full-text search across all 66 books, and a daily verse widget for the mobile home screen. The backend data pipeline is written in Python and GoLang — Python for scraping and normalising public domain scripture texts, and GoLang for the high-performance API that serves the web version.

The project is actively maintained. Planned features include audio Bible integration, reading plans, and sharing verses as styled image cards for social media.
